Job Summary
•Insect data collection, damage assessment, and harvest of trails. The candidate will also be responsible for helping to maintain research plot records, pesticide inventories and to keep with updates on data and picture files,
•The applicant will assist with pest surveys by setting and monitoring insect traps in various locations in Western Kentucky.
•Laboratory responsibilities will include: rearing and maintenance of insect colonies to conduct insecticide evaluation tests, and maintaining greenhouse seedlings.
•Additional responsibilities include monitoring pest populations, servicing insect traps, and conduct pesticide applications in replicate test plots,
•This position will work with the extension entomologist in Princeton, KY. Travel to sites to collect data is important
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
•Good computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and data base management software is essential.
•Knowledge and skills handling pesticides.
•Some experience on University research, insecticide replicate test and collecting data are desirable.
